Pontal Hostel is located in Recreio dos Bandeirantes which is one of the newer districts of the town. The neighborhood is localized between Reserva beach, in Barra da Tijuca, and the beaches of Macumba, Prainha e Grumari, that are considered paradisiacal and excellent for surfing practice.
Around the hostel are:
The Marambaia Sandbank, perfect for begginers and practitioners of Stand-up Surf, Flyboard or Wakeboard;
Vargem Grande district, that has many trails and waterfalls, and a great gastronomy center;
The Abricó beach, only nude beach in Rio de Janeiro;
And the virgin beaches of Perigoso, Funda, Inferno, Secreto and Meio, which can only be accessed only trails.
